Meet Samantha Devine!
My journey to this work began with athletics. As a gymnast, climber, and runner, I learned how the body moves—and how quickly it can stop moving. I fell in love with the mechanics of the human body and the subsequent systems it relies on to function properly.
This led me to become a personal trainer specializing in rehabbing and re-strengthening elite athletes to help ensure their future endeavors in competitive sports.
Time and time again, I saw athletes flawlessly executing training programs but still not achieving their goals. They were frustrated, and I was confused. They had done everything by the book, so why wasn’t it working?
I started to explore what was holding them back, and that’s when I realized that the limits of my clients were far less based on their ability but primarily on how they were fueling their bodies and minds.
This led me to study Ayurveda—the ancient sister science of yoga that uses food as medicine—and in 2009, I began applying that knowledge to myself, my family, and my clients.
I experienced firsthand how proper nourishment, daily self-care practice, and bodywork can completely transform lives. While the initial focus was getting the most out of their bodies, clients reported being in the healthiest mental state of their lives.
The remarkable transformations that I saw in myself and my clients, in combination with the widespread misinformation about food and its relationship to physical and mental health inspired me to start practicing Ayurveda publicly. I became a certified Ayurvedic practitioner, and I opened my own practice.
Now, my practice is a holistic blend of the oldest and the newest sciences that the medical community offers. Every client gets a unique combination of nutrition, bodywork, Vedic Psychology, and Biomagnetism that will best meet their needs.
My professional journey ran parallel to a personal life packed with the beautiful complications that make us all human. I like to think that these experiences served as my greatest training, equipping me with the empathy and understanding to meet my clients wherever they are on their own journey.
